  The town of
Wareham, sometimes called The Gateway to Cape Cod, is situated
near the Southwest entrance to the Cape Cod Canal on the mainland side.
Wareham contains several villages:
Onset, West Wareham, East Wareham, Wareham (village), and the newly designated South Wareham.
Onset is the best known of all, loved for its harbors in and around Onset Bay (pictured on the left), for its beautiful beaches and waterfront estates, and for the summer activities and fun, festive atmosphere of its village center. East Wareham has several major retail stores, while West Wareham - a more rural area - is the site of the new Wareham Crossing shopping center. Wareham Village is home to Tobey Hospital and a large number of medical offices. |
